Awful news and a terrible loss for the music scene in Phnom Penh

Sharky - RIP Big Mike Hsu

I've heard earlier that a true Phnom Penh expat legend, Sharky Bar owner Big Mike Hsu, passed away suddenly on the premises earlier this afternoon. He collapsed in the bar and was pronounced dead shortly thereafter. His friends are currently in the process of contacting his relatives back home.
It's hard to know what to say. Many of us knew Mike well, and Playboy and myself were sharing a beer with him just a couple of nights ago; he always made a point of coming out from the back office to shake your hand and have a quick chat. A true gentleman.
It's well known he has been sick for a while - he posted about it on 440 just a month or so ago - but that doesn't take away the shock. A lovely man, and he will be missed by all who knew him.
