Kep is a 20 minutes ride away from the next bigger city, Kampot. It is laidback and famous for it\'s beautiful hilly landscape, old colonial villas and the countries fattest crabs. Kep has loads of charming bungalow resorts mostly having it\'s own pool. On the hill behind is a trekking path originally made by the resort owners. Best hotel in town is Knai Bang Chatt right on the murky beach. Best value is Kep Lodge owned by Swiss Dan. Most creative hotel you have ever seen in the world is Veranda. Kep is laid back, there are no partys nor girlies and just a handful places to go at nichts. You can rent motobikes making you a bit mobile at the resorts. Water quality is very low in Kep. The crabs seem to like it as they get fatter than anywhere else in country, but you won\'t have to bring your snorkeling gears. Book in advance when arriving at weekends as it\'s filling up with Khmers from Phnom Penh. And watch out you got them not as neighbours as they start to play on their mobile phone songs 6am :-)
