3km from Bietschhorn is a refuge hut called Baltschiederklause.
Stockhorn next to it has a hut as well called Stockhornbiwak. The whole thing is in the Wallis Aletsch Region upon Visp-Baltschieder village.
On another side of Aletsch is the canton of Berne with Grindelwald skiresort and the famous Eiger-Mönch-Jungfrau rocks. Maybe some of you heard about Eiger North Face which is the challenge for all climbers in the world where Everest is getting a babyrock compared to those 2km of vertical rock.
Behind Bieschhorn is a valley called Lötschental.
The recently built Lötschberg Basetunnel goes through this mountain range, connecting the cantons of Berne and Valais (Spiez-Brig towns) together.
