Now you Google yourself and try to find the movie about the apres ski Party, but to me it Looks like this is another holy site for those believing in churches and god. All other maybe still run over to Ischgl then except of those Family papas along their mommies with kids. For all those do not like noise nor to talk to a stranger, this might be a nice site here.
Bascily Wildhaus and this whole area of Toggenburg is one of the nicest site on this whole planet. The skiresort is great, it is not too steep, not too shallow. It is nearly perfect for having a nice skiing or snowboarding day at this skiresort. Unfortunately yet it is a bit hard to get to another side of Alt St. Johann where it goes up to Chäserrugg, but this is not the big issues at this venue.
The Thing in Wildhaus with making it a winter tourism attraction is rather, they not concentrated this whole town with a master concept. Somehow there was built something here...a bit something over tehre, you need a car to get to a Hotel, you need a car to get down skiing somehow, nightlife is likely poor. If they once 30 years ago had a guy here watching out this all would be built the right way, getting rid of this road going through town, making Hotels not right at the main road, it could be a real gorgeous and nice skiresort in Switzerland.
This is the part they understood about in St. Anton and Ischgl, where they made cablecars going from within town up to hte mountains, they watched out cars stay out of town, they found out about some nightlife Close to the cablecars must be existing, and they found out about a nice Walking Zone with many Restaurants, bars, Clubs and Hotels within Walking distance must be existing. And exactly this is what you see in Wildhaus somehow connected together with Alt St. Johann. There was not once a guy with a master idea and everyone was doing something, a bit here, a bit over there.
Somehow it is a shame for Toggenburg as they could have made much more about it with just sticking a bit more together in past and if they not once find a guy with such a master Vision it will always stay the same sleepy town up here where People come from outside, ride up a mountain and get as quick as possible out after skiing.
Now you got a massive road going through the best part of Flims, the best part of Davos and so many other charming towns int those mountains as Wildhaus. And as Long they got this road they likely can think another 1000 years how to make this whole thing up here working, as no one wants to see a road with cars. No one even would be angry about parking his car 1km away from his Hotel but having a Walking Zone in front instead with a great vibe where pepole talk instead of watching Turks driving noisy cars.
With all this, Wildhaus got a Chance as some parts are done the right way. But they somehow should stick together once with Alt St. Johann to find out about how to make once something real within Switzerland. What you feel and see up here is, they somehow really want to make something, but not yet found out about the how to. This whole Thing in Wildhaus/Alt St. Johann has really big potential to make something gorgeous.
