Read the book of Hape Kerkeling when he was walking towards Santiago to understand about catholics. There was barely something lovely, barely something entertaining and he was just alone walking this whole way once to find peace. Once then he thought he might have found god when walking alone for 30 kilometers in a row every day without thinking something. This seems to be most achievable effort for catholics and this is what you will find in whole canton of Saint Gall. Nothing than pure nakedness and basic life of catholics.
That means the homes are naked having no single charms, there is barely any nightlife all over the region and barely any entertainment. Life is about work, family abd far away from being any social. Now those being no catholics and do not appreciate this kind of sterile living, they will drive 100km car to find humans being kind of alive and not infected by any virus of christian beliefs. This is the Swiss canton where it is the most easy to die on boredom. There is just nothing else to do than working, sleeping and enjoying any nature alone for those not achieved making any families. Beside of sitting in churches of course, what seems to be the main drag here.
The most ambiant site in this canton is called Toggenburg. Even it is as boring and sleepy as the whole rest, it got at least one of Switzerlands nicest landscape.
Another region called Seegaster is layed on another end of lake Zurich. A dead region with expelled people settling which are working in Zurich but can not afford living closer to Zurich. Still far cheaper to life at this area but eversince they connected the highways together, property prices as well drifted towards bubble, even the whole area offers nothing else than pure naked-sterileness and boredom.
Usually the area around Rapperswil is a site where foreigners from Balkans doing the dirty jobs for the Swiss were living in past before property prices started to explode here as well.
There are a couple ski resorts around the mountainous canton but do not expect any music in this catholic area and start to pray. Sometimes you ask yourself if those Swiss brought this whole sterile ambiance once up really wanted it that way or if they just were all to stinghy paying any EMI fees when making this whole canton an ambiance as being in an empty church.
Needs obviously not to be mentioned tgis whole site is entirely dead at nights...with very very few exceptions where people can meet.
