When people once are not working they want to be entertained when going holidays to have a good time. But about this the Swiss never really found out about. Beside this whole nation is boring like a protestant church, the ski resorts are as well. And once then the Swiss alpine managers started to wonder about 25 years ago why Ischgl in Austria was every year a fuller house. The reason for it was simple...the Young People did not want to be bored to death anymore and just went over to Austria when the old rich papas spent their couple Dollars in Switzerland.

Those days Ischgl was cheap. The man called Günther Aloys having the ideas. A simple idea with just giving the young Snowboarders once a good party when Switzerland still tried to attract all those old boring guys thinking they were the ones bringing the big Dollars. But they have been more than wrong as all those old boring guys are going to sleep with their boring wifes when the Snowboarders started their parties.

30 years ago when Günther Alois converted Ischgl Swiss ski resorts were like a protestand church....with a very few exceptions and sometimes they got the idea to bring up some ambiance, but very rarery when watching over to Austria.

You had not to expect a decent nightclub nor any full house Apres ski Clubs...or a table dance watching hookers jumping around on the tables as in Ischgl?

Pretty sure about almost every single skiresort in Switzerland had the 10 times better cablecar facilities and their venues could easily compete with Austrian places but when People go skiing it is an attraction listening to Rolling Stones on a mountain and having a party playground. Even Bill Clinton seems to love it.

This was cheap Austria in past where you paid 50 percent of prices compared to Switzerland. If it was Sankt Anton, Ischgl, Solden whatever.

In the meantime things changed and it is not hard to see what people really love. To be entertained, girls, parties, wellness, socializing and the very few places on this planet offering something more than average boredom are a full house and get overfilled and overtaken by a flood of rich people feom allover the planet. The Swiss managers still are jealous looking over to Austria. Where they have been thinking about money and economy and quick dollars, Austria thought about quality and wellness. But in the meantime skiing in Austria costs double as much than in Switzerland, at least in Ischgl where those parties are fully commercialized happyness in anonymity. It would be easy to top Ischgl in Switzerland with another place as the Swiss still are jealous watching over to Austria, dreaming about this sort of quick money when seeing all sort of jet setters drinking 3000 dollar bottles. But it is still same and even 30 years later when having tools like Google with just copying and paste the best ideas....the Swiss have no clue about how it works. They invest millions in building cablecars, but forget about to turn on the music and safe EMI fees. But make a long face when no one is coming.

As Daniel Bumann once taught those Swiss restaurants. You need not 50 lousy items on the menu. You need just 1...but this must have quality and be special. One ski resort catering to families and kids but having anything to entertain those kids. Another venue for the singles, but not forgetting to turn on music and a decent nightclub to socialize with girls. And this place for yuppies, old boys and jetsetters should have the helipad and keep the ones dreaming about money and families away as those billion dollar boys walking into Badrutt want not to be annoyed by any 25 years old kids which made their first million. Actually most things are done for families, but they forgot about all those divorced and single people in the 40s which now make 30% and those will not drive up mountains which forgot nightclubs to be bored.

Those rare places which made it to be carfree and not forgot about ambiance with water, fire, colors, passion and charm will make it. Those thinking eversince first about quick money but forgot about human needs and ambiance will keep to make a long face. But hard to say if this is the future where everyone runs around the planet to be commercially mass entertained as in Igschl.

As of those 50 skiresorts in Switzerland, hard to find out about who is the who. They have all snow now yes. But which one would be the funny one where to socialize with others as they still all gorgot about their places to go after skiing and forget about turning on music daytime when catering to kids and mommies.

Finally those being carfree and offering any charm with fire, water and colors will make it and anothers bringing up naked sterile concrete science and having a road in front their best spots will keep making long faces.
